01 / Start with the rooms you use most.

Rooms that feel like you.

A living room refresh, a bedroom color change or a larger repaint each needs a different plan. Tell us which rooms and surfaces you want included, what is staying in the space and when you hope to have the work completed.

What it covers: Walls, ceilings and trim, room by room; for homeowners and business owners; prep that protects your home and belongings.

01

Walls, ceilings & trim

Make the scope specific. Identify the walls, ceilings, doors and trim you want priced, along with any visible wear or previous repairs.

02

Color & natural light

Bring your inspiration and consider samples in the room itself. A color that works in a bright waterfront living room can feel different in a shaded hallway.

03

An occupied home

Let us know how you use the space. Access, furniture and the order of rooms are useful details to discuss before the project starts.

02 / Plan it properly

A room-by-room plan. Not just a color.

01Define the edges of the project

An interior estimate becomes much easier to compare when every surface has a place in the scope. A room can mean walls only, or it can mean walls, ceiling, baseboards, doors and window trim.

Closets, stairwells and connected hallways deserve their own line in the conversation. If you want the rooms to flow together, bring a simple room list and identify the finishes that are staying. That gives the consultation a useful starting point instead of leaving important details to assumptions.

02Balance appearance with everyday use

Color and sheen are separate decisions. Think about how much light crosses the wall, how often the room is used and whether the surface is likely to need cleaning.

A quieter finish may suit one space, while another needs a different balance of appearance and maintenance. Compare physical samples in your own room and identify the exact product and sheen in the final scope; a finish name alone does not describe every paint’s performance.

03Prepare the home as well as the walls

Before work begins, discuss furniture, artwork, window treatments and the belongings that need moving or protecting. Identify rooms that must remain accessible, pets that need a separate space and any work-from-home commitments.

These details help you agree a sensible sequence. It is also the right time to point out stains, cracks or peeling areas so that necessary preparation can be assessed and the estimate can distinguish painting from any separate repair work.

04Know what to keep after completion

Keep a record of the room, color name or code, manufacturer, product and sheen. That information is useful when you later change a fixture, add shelving or need to discuss a touch-up.

Ask about care and when the specific finish can be cleaned. During the final review, walk through the agreed surfaces in normal room lighting and make one clear list of anything that needs another look. Palmetto’s published process includes follow-up after the project.

Interior painting, answered.

The right conversation starts with your home.
What affects the cost of interior painting?

The rooms and surfaces included, ceiling height, access and the condition of the existing finish all shape the scope. Palmetto starts with an onsite conversation and an estimate for your project rather than a price based only on floor area.

Can we discuss colors before deciding?

Yes. Bring the colors you are considering to the project conversation. Seeing samples in your own light helps narrow the choice before the full room is painted.

Do you paint cabinets as well?

Yes. Cabinet painting is a separate service because the surfaces, existing finish and daily use need their own discussion. Ask to include cabinets in your estimate if you are planning a kitchen refresh.

Which areas do you serve?

Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, Daniel Island, James Island, West Ashley, North Charleston, Goose Creek and Summerville. Share your project address with Greg to confirm service availability.
